Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidate must be an Indian citizen.
  • Must have passed Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent.
  • Must possess a valid LMV/HMV driving license issued at least one year before notification date.

Written Examination
  • Objective type test with 100 questions, each carrying 1 mark.
  • Total marks: 100; Duration: 2 hours.
  • Subjects include General Knowledge, General Science, Elementary Mathematics, Current Affairs.
  • Results are normalized using methods like Equi-Percentile or Normalization.
  • Minimum qualifying marks: ~60% for General category, ~40% for reserved categories.
Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
  • Measures physical standards such as height and chest circumference.
  • Minimum standards vary by category and region.
  • Candidates not meeting standards will be disqualified.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
  • Qualifying test with physical tasks like running, long jump, and high jump.
  • Pass/fail criteria without marks.
  • Medical fitness is mandatory.

Physical Test

Test Component Details
Physical Measurement
  • Separate standards apply for General and Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates.
  • Physical measurement is mandatory for all candidates appearing for the exam.
  • Minimum height for General category candidates: Male - 165 cm, Female - 150 cm.
  • Relaxation in height standards is provided for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates.
  • Failure to meet physical measurement criteria will result in disqualification from further examination.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
  • All candidates must undergo the Physical Efficiency Test.
  • For Male candidates:
    • 1 mile(1600 meters) run to be completed within 7 minutes.
    • Long jump minimum distance: 10 feet.
    • High jump minimum height: 3 feet 6 inch
    • Shot Put(16 pond) minimum distance:14 feet
  • For Female candidates:
    • 1km(1000 meters) run to be completed within 7 minutes
    • Long jump minimum distance: 7 feet.
    • High jump minimum height: 2 feet 6 inches.
    • Shot Put(12 pond) minimum distance:08 feet
  • The PET is qualifying in nature, where only pass/fail status will be determined.

  • Study basic rules of road safety and driving regulations.
