Detailed Educational Eligibility Criteria

I. Intermediate Trained Special Education Assistant Teacher (Class 1-5)

Candidates must have passed Intermediate/Higher Secondary (+2) or its equivalent examination with at least 50% marks (45% for those who commenced training prior to 09.12.2007).

AND

Must possess one of the following valid professional training qualifications in Special Education and have a valid RCI CRR No.: 

  • 2-year Diploma in Special Education (D.Ed./D.P.S.E.) in any category (e.g., Mental Retardation, Hearing Impairment, Visual Impairment).
  • Primary Level Teacher Training course in Visual Impairment.
  • Diploma in Hearing Language and Speech (DHLS) with a 6-month Certificate Course in Education of Children with Special Needs.
  • Other equivalent RCI-approved courses. 

II. Graduate Trained Special Education Assistant Teacher (Class 6-8)

Candidates must have a minimum three-year Graduation (Science/Arts/Commerce) or its equivalent.

AND

Must possess one of the following professional qualifications in Special Education and have a valid RCI CRR No.:

  • B.Ed. in Special Education.
  • B.Ed. (General) with an RCI-approved Post Graduate Professional Diploma in Special Education (PGPD).
  • B.Ed. (Special) with a Post Graduate Professional Certificate in Special Education (PGPC). 
  • Other RCI-approved PG Diplomas/Senior Diplomas/BA B.Ed. in Special Education. 

Age Limit (as on Cut-off Date)

  • Graduate Trained Special Education Assistant Teacher (Class 6-8): Pay Level-6, with a likely pay scale of ₹ 35,400/- to ₹ 1,12,400/- (Subject to official confirmation in the full notification).

Selection Process

The selection will be based on a Main Examination, followed by Document Verification. The Main Examination will have the following structure: 

  • The examination will consist of three papers (Paper-1, Paper-2, and Paper-3).
  • The exam will be conducted in three shifts/sittings.
  • The difficulty level of all questions will be of the +2/Intermediate level.
  • The Merit List will be prepared based on the marks obtained in Paper-2 and Paper-3, provided the candidate qualifies in Paper-1.
