Educational Eligibility Criteria Of WB Primary Teacher
- Citizenship: Candidate must be an Indian citizen.
- Academic Qualifications (any one as per NCTE norms):
- Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks + 2-year D.El.Ed., OR
- Higher Secondary with at least 45% marks + 2-year D.El.Ed. (as per NCTE provisions), OR
- Higher Secondary with at least 50% marks + 4-year B.El.Ed., OR
- Higher Secondary with at least 50% marks + 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education), OR
- Graduation with 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- TET: Passing the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by WBBPE (as per NCTE rules) is mandatory.
- Relaxation: Reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/EC/Ex-Servicemen/PwD) get relaxation in qualifying marks as per state rules (up to 5% where applicable).
Medium of Instruction
- For languages such as Bengali, Hindi, Urdu, Nepali, English, etc., candidates should have studied the concerned language as either First or Second language at the Higher Secondary (or equivalent) level.
- For Santhali-medium posts, proficiency in Santhali (Ol-Chiki script) is required — passing Santhali at HS level is not mandatory if the candidate demonstrates proficiency.

Salary Structure / Pay Scale
- Pay Scale: As per Government of West Bengal rules for Primary Assistant Teachers.
- Salary will follow the state pay matrix with admissible DA, HRA, medical allowance and other benefits applicable at the time of appointment.

Selection will be based on an aggregate of 50 marks covering academic qualifications, training, TET, extra-curricular activities, viva-voce and — where applicable — aptitude or teaching experience for para-teachers, following the West Bengal Primary School Teachers Recruitment Rules, 2016 (as amended).

Exam Pattern
